Is it Right for Me?
The IPL PhotoFacial℠ is a gold standard treatment option for challenging conditions such as redness, sun damage, brown spots, and broken capillaries. Achieving an even complexion and a softer, more youthful appearance can help build confidence and positivity. This treatment is safest and most effective for those with more fair skin tones. It may be necessary to pretreat using hydroquinone and/or Retin A depending on skin type and condition.
How much does it cost?
A full-face treatment is $485 per session. Please call about pricing for other areas such as neck, chest or hands.
How many sessions are required?
For optimal results, a series of 3 to 5 IPL PhotoFacial℠ sessions are recommended. Results are best maintained by having 1 to 2 treatments per year. If treating a more stubborn condition, additional sessions may be necessary.
How long does the process take?
This non-invasive pulsed light treatment can take as little as 15 minutes and up to an hour depending on the area treated. However, this procedure requires approximately two hours of your time at the medspa. Before treatment, we thoroughly cleanse the area and apply numbing cream and for added comfort.
How quickly do I see the results?
Some patients see significant improvement after 2 to 3 treatments; others require more. Follow-up treatments are typically recommended to maintain results.
What is the evidence that it works?
After each treatment, the skin will feel smoother and more evenly toned. However, results do appear gradually and require multiple treatments to see significant change.
How long do the results last?
Results are best maintained with a proper at home skin care regimen and continued yearly maintenance.
What is the downtime?
There is little to no downtime. This is considered a “lunch time” procedure.
Is it safe?
Yes. With any medical procedures there is always a risk of side effects or complications. Any possible side effects will be discussed with you at the time of consultation.
What are the side effects?
Side effects of IPL Photofacial℠ treatments are rare. However, immediately following treatment, the skin may appear flushed, brown-pigmented spots may appear darker, and capillaries may be more visible. In rare instances, temporary swelling and blistering can occur.
Is the treatment painful?
When the pulse of light is delivered, the sensation is similar to the snap of a rubber band.
