Permanent Hair Reduction Treatment
To obtain smooth skin and remove unwanted hair
Epi Center MedSpa professionals have been performing reliable Laser Hair Removal treatments on light and dark skin individuals since 1996, when Dr. Bitter performed the FDA clinical trials. Laser Hair Removal is a safe and long-lasting treatment for eliminating unwanted hair on the face and body. With a series of sessions, you achieve the result of smooth hairless skin.
WHAT DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL DO AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
During laser hair removal, a laser emits light that penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat which damages the hair follicles and inhibits hair growth.

Is Laser Hair Removal Right for Me?
The ideal candidate for laser hair removal has unwanted hair on their face or body. Patients with skin types I-IV are treated quickly. Particular precaution is taken when treating the darkest of skin types. We request you stay out of the sun two weeks before and after treatment. If you have darker skin tones, you may need to pretreat for two weeks before your treatment. Consultation is required.
FAQs About Laser Hair Removal
How much does it cost?
The cost for Laser Hair Removal depends upon the size of the treatment area but is typically between $99-$450 per treatment.
How many sessions are required?
The amount of sessions needed depends upon the treatment area, hair characteristics, and the individual’s tolerance for discomfort. Typically 5 to 7 treatments result in 70 to 90% clearance. Darker skin tones require more treatments.
How long does the process take?
Depending on the size of the treatment area, it may take from ten minutes to one hour.
How quickly do I see the results?
You see results after each treatment. 15% to 20% of the hair does not return after each treatment.
How long do the results last?
Other than a few instances due to rare medical conditions, the treated hair does not return. Our bodies have hair cells that lie dormant and become active at certain times of our lives: puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. For the most part, the greatest amount of hair comes in by the time we are 25 years old.
What is the downtime?
There is minimal social downtime, and you may return to regular activities immediately.
Is it safe?
Yes. Laser Hair Removal is safe and well-tolerated. Epi Center MedSpa did FDA clinical trials in 1996-1997 and developed a safe protocol that the FDA used in considering this treatment technology safe.
What are the side effects?
You may experience mild and temporary side effects such as redness and swelling. It is essential that you stay out of the sun two weeks before treatment to reduce the risk of any side effects.
Is the treatment painful?
There may be discomfort during the treatment with feelings of tiny zaps or pinches. At Epi Center MedSpa, we provide a powerful numbing cream 30 minutes before treatment which significantly increases comfort.
Who performs the treatment?
Treatments are performed by our registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and PAs.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Treatment is by appointment only and often available in a few days.
How is this an eco-friendly treatment?
There are no chemicals used, only light. Without the need for shaving, there is water reduction and no plastic razor disposal.
What other treatments are recommended in support of Laser Hair Removal?
Once the hair is gone, it is gone! Many patients enjoy PhotoFacial treatment on their arms and legs if they have a lot of sun damage.
