Founders of the MedSpa Industry

The MedSpa industry started here.

In 1998, Epi Center MedSpa CEO and Co-Founder Margaret Mitchell and renowned physician and Co-Founder Patrick H. Bitter, Sr., M.D. brought medical aesthetics and the luxury spa experience together to create an entirely new concept in beauty and skin health. They called it a “MedSpa”—and an industry was born.

Innovation has continued to define Epi Center ever since. In 2008, we became the nation’s first LEED-certified MedSpa, bringing environmental responsibility and sustainable luxury to the aesthetic industry and earning recognition from then-San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.

Now, we’re evolving the concept again.

By integrating regenerative medicine and longevity principles with advanced aesthetics, Epi Center is reshaping what it means to age gracefully. Because aging well isn’t simply about looking younger—it’s about looking good, feeling good and living well for as long as possible.

Nearly three decades after creating the MedSpa industry, we continue to look ahead—bringing together beauty, wellness, regeneration and longevity to create a more complete approach to aging well.
