Is Sclerotherapy Right for Me?

Sclerotherapy is a safe and effective treatment option for the cosmetic complaints of visible spider veins. The ideal candidate has had no severe problems with blood clots, is between the ages of 18 and 80, and has not given birth or been pregnant for at least three months.

How much does it cost?

The cost for Sclerotherapy is $700 for an hour of treatment. 

How many sessions are required?

For most people, multiple treatments are needed to establish desired results. Plan on at least 2 or 3 sessions.

How long does the process take?

Sessions are typically 30 to 60 minutes long, depending on the treatment area. We only treat for one hour, so patients with many veins on both legs may have to schedule a second appointment to finish the first round.

How quickly do I see the results?

Typically, within 4 to 6 weeks.

How long do the results last?

The results of Sclerotherapy are permanent. However, this does not mean that more veins may not accumulate over time.

What is the downtime?

There is minimal downtime.

What aftercare is needed post-treatment?

Compression stockings or ace bandages should be worn for 1-3 weeks after the procedure.

Is it safe?

Yes, Sclerotherapy is considered safe. It has been viewed as the gold standard treatment for spider veins for over 80 years.

What are the side effects?

You may experience bruising, stinging, swelling, skin discoloration, and redness around the injection sites. In addition, temporary discoloration may develop near the treatment area.

Is the treatment painful?

For some, minor stinging or cramping may occur during the treatment when the needle is inserted into the vein. If you experience a high degree of pain, please tell us.

Who performs the treatment?

Treatments are performed by our registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and PAs.
