Revitalizing Treatments

To minimize the signs of aging

PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is an all-natural solution that treats various skin conditions and the first signs of aging, such as fine lines, under-eye hollows, deflated cheeks, and hair loss. PRF contains platelets, white cells, and stem cells. These cells slowly release the patient’s own growth factors when applied or injected, which leads to regeneration in the area being treated. This process allows it to be used for cosmetic volume and hair restoration and in conjunction with MicroNeedling.

FAQs About PRF

How much does it cost?

A full-face treatment is $935 per session. Please call about pricing for other areas.

How many sessions are required?

For optimal results, a series of two to four IPL PhotoFacial℠ sessions are recommended. If treating a more stubborn condition, additional sessions may be necessary.

How long does the process take?

This non-invasive pulsed light treatment takes only 10-20 minutes, depending on the area treated. However, this procedure requires two hours of your time at the medspa. Before treatment, we thoroughly cleanse the area and apply numbing cream for added comfort.

How quickly do I see the results?

Some patients see significant improvement after 2 to 3 treatments; others require more. Follow-up treatments may be recommended to maintain results.

What is the evidence that it works?

After each treatment, the skin will feel smoother and more evenly toned. However, results do appear gradually and require multiple treatments to see significant change.

How long do the results last?

Results vary depending upon what condition we are treating. Lasting results also depend on your ongoing sun exposure, age, and condition.

What is the downtime?

There is little to no downtime.

Is it safe?

Yes. There may be mild side effects, but rarely are there complications. Our highly trained medical professionals ensure that your treatment is safe and reliable.

What are the side effects?

Side effects of IPL Photofacial℠ treatments are rare. However, immediately following treatment, the skin may appear flushed, brown-pigmented spots may appear darker, and capillaries may be more visible. In rare instances, temporary swelling and blistering can occur.

Is the treatment painful?

When the pulse of light is delivered, the sensation is similar to the snap of a rubber band. Some find it mildly painful, and others do not. If you are concerned, we do offer a topical anesthetic.

Who invented the IPL PhotoFacial℠?

Cosmetic Dermatologist Dr. Patrick Bitter, Sr. introduced the IPL PhotoFacial℠ procedure to the world in 1998. His protocol is only available at Epi Center MedSpa in San Francisco.

Who performs the treatment?

Treatments are performed by our registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and PAs.
